Round 6: St Peters Old Scholars V Sturt

A Team

While disappointing not to get a point you all worked tirelessly pushing St Peters to the final whistle (end result 1-0).

A most entertaining game and one to be proud of. St Peters are up there and are a good unit.

Some off you were given roles to play and you adjusted well while this did negate some of our creativeness - it had to be done.

Scotty made some excellent saves, the penalty stop kept us in it to the end - another solid performance matesy.

The back lines focus and discipline kept St Peters front runners under pressure and in the last part of the game some fine runs were created by Mark, Russell and Grima - top effort. Losing stewy early in the game was unfortunate for us and hopefully Stewy can get back on track this week,Clarkey though stepped in with a solid performance on the left while Kev put in another hard and honest display matching his opponent while giving away a few centimetres in height.

Dave and Steve had instructions and worked from box to box and their second half was exceptional switching the play to keep us pushing forward. Jezza's first full game will probably see him a bit sore. A solid performance and one to work on. Well done Jezz.

Dazz and Tim were up against tight and organised back line but both kept St Peters on their toes with many a good run.

The coming weeks see us on a cut lunch and water bottle journey - I think we will get points away as your spirit and morale is high and the belief within the team will see us stronger for our return home games.

Again thanks for your efforts and see you on the track.
