Round 1 Sturt-Marion v. Old Ignatius

A Team

Round 1 and the season is well under way with a home victory over Old Ignations (4-2) and a most pleasing result in the end.

We as a unit wore down the opposition with our physicality and hardness to win the ball "attitude and confidence".

While some players are looking at their performances and rightly so - Do not bring yourself down on one game. You know what has to be done and as they say "Just Do It".

Our movement in attack was outstanding and great to watch while at times we needed to be patient and wait for support.

Overall an effort to be proud of.

Congratulations to all the goal scorers (Ross, Slater, Quigley, and Clarke) and let us have some more of that good thing.

To all on their first time out for the Thunder we trust it will be one of many celebrations - Dazz will recommend it (if he can remember it).

To this weeks game, time to tune into the task at hand. This will be a great test to see where we are as a squad. We will need to take all the good from our last game and do it again and improve the small percentage of things we failed to with Old Ignations.

We must be selfish as a team and not give the opposition any chances to make them look good.

If it is there to be done do it and do it right.

Good luck for the coming game.

The Gaffer.
